Hi, I’m Sarah.
At my core, I value service. I endeavor to show up with empathy, care, and intention, and to contribute in ways that make life a little better for others. I’m drawn to communities and work rooted in compassion, thoughtfulness, and human connection.
Before my foray into design, I spent more than a decade managing a high-end salon. I became fascinated by everything that happened around the service itself—the phone call before an appointment, how someone navigated booking, the expectations set before they arrived, the experience they had in the chair, and what made them want to come back.
I eventually realized I wanted to solve those kinds of problems on a much larger scale.
That led me to UX and, ultimately, product design.
Today, I bring that same service mindset to digital products. I look beyond individual screens to understand the entire experience: the people, systems, workflows, constraints, behaviors, and business goals that shape it.
I particularly enjoy complex problems—the ones where the answer isn't immediately obvious and where making something simpler requires understanding what's happening underneath. I’ve always been interested in how experiences work. As a kid, I was always curious, and over time that curiosity grew into a genuine interest in understanding people—their behaviors, motivations, and the patterns that shape how they experience the world. It’s a way of seeing that naturally carries through everything I do.
Outside of my professional work, I apply the same leadership principles exhibited in my professional life to my time as a volunteer with a nonprofit Siberian Husky rescue.
I run kennel operations for a population of 40+ adoptable rescue dogs and lead the volunteer recruitment, onboarding and training experiences. This work requires structure, systems thinking, clear communication, and deep empathy—for both people and animals. It’s where I feel most at home and creating these experiences is truly a passion - my work here continually reinforces how meaningful, well-designed experiences can support individuals, teams, and communities.
My Approach
01 - Understand
the system
I start by understanding the customer, the business, the technology, and the people involved.
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
02 - Find the
friction
Research, analytics, stakeholder conversations, and observation help me identify where the experience breaks down.
03 - Define the
opportunity
I turn messy inputs into a clear problem, opportunity, or hypothesis.
04 - Explore the
possibilities
I prototype, workshop, test, and iterate with the people closest to the problem.
05 - Build
alignment
I use artifacts, storytelling, and prototypes to bring cross-functional teams together around a shared direction.
06 - Measure
& learn
I look at what happened after launch, what we learned, and where the experience can continue to improve.
